My name is Cristy and I'm 33 years old. I've been married for 7 years (8 in June). My husband and I have been dating since we were 15 years old and we never ever broke up. We love each other very much. We're in the process of trying to have kids, however I suffered a miscarriage this month, but that hasn't deterred us. We have 3 cats that we adore: Benji, Baby, and Oliver and they keep us busy and entertained. I could have the worst day in the world, but coming home to the cats makes me forget everything.
My interests include reading voraciously, writing, journaling (on paper and livejournal), animal rights, crochet, and looming. Animals are very important to both my husband and I and we donate to a few causes. I believe that all animals should be treated with respect and love. Unfortunately, I've seen rise in animal abuse and I can't understand how people can hurt vulnerable beings.
I love to read, in particular biography, history (ancient Roman), true crime (I LOVE IT), psychology, and sociology. I rarely read fiction because I'm very picky about what fiction I read, but right now I'm reading "The Alchemist" and I like it. It's quite inspiring and makes you think differently about life.
I've kept a journal since I was 13. I have about 7 unfinished journals and 1 finished journal. I don't write every day and sometimes I go months without writing, but journaling doesn't really have any rules.
When I was little, I taught myself to knit. However, I found knitting a bit boring (sorry to all you knitters out there) and taught myself to crochet a few years ago. I enjoy crocheting, but I'm still a beginner. Whenever I get frustrated, I'll put it aside for a few months then go back to it again. I made a really nice afghan and baby cape, but other than that, I haven't really made anything else. Now I've gotten into looming. I had bought these Knifty Knitter looms a while back but never pulled them out of the box. Recently, my interest was peaked and I ordered a bunch of books on round loom knitting, joined some yahoo groups related to the craft, and added some good loom knitting websites to my favorites.
I work as a therapist at a mental health agency for the mentally ill. I'm working towards getting my license in the next few months so I can open a private practice.
